Year 9 Open Evening 2026

Over 150 Visitors Attend Aldridge UTC Darwen Open Evening

Aldridge UTC Darwen was delighted to welcome more than 150 prospective students, parents and carers to our Open Evening on Thursday 24 September 2026.

Visitors had the opportunity to explore our facilities, meet staff and students, and discover the exciting academic and technical curriculum available at the UTC. Throughout the evening, guests experienced a wide range of activities, including practical science demonstrations, maths challenges, Games Design activities, photography and graphics exhibitions, Health & Social Care demonstrations, and a live TV and Film production set.

A particular highlight of the evening was our exceptional student ambassadors, who welcomed visitors, led tours and shared their experiences of life at UTCD. Their confidence, professionalism and enthusiasm helped showcase the strong sense of community that makes our school unique.

The event provided families with a valuable insight into the opportunities available at Aldridge UTC Darwen, from our specialist curriculum and employer partnerships to the pathways that prepare students for successful futures.

We would like to thank all staff, students and visitors who contributed to making the evening such a success.

Applications for September 2027 remain open. If you would like to join the UTCD community, you can apply online at: https://utcd.aldridgeed...
